01.07.15: Lucky Number 7

Since graduating, I've actually had time to ride the train again. Nothing was more depressing for me over the past four years than having to sit all day: sit in school, sit in my car, sit at work, repeat. I don't know how people keep it up. Needless to say, I've brushed the dust off my camera once again.

I got off early from my job on New Years Eve. I'm not really one to celebrate holidays; I celebrate every day. So, I rode the train to 5 Points to shot a roll off downtown. There was a huge police presence due to the Peach Drop. I could hardly navigate due to all the swat vehicles & barricades. On the other hand, there were local street musicians and drunken couples on every corner.

Later on, after a few obligatory drinks, I walked my friends to the Tabernacle where they were going to see a show. I expected to hug them goodbye and go about my solitary photography endeavor. After unsuccessfully trying to convince me to buy an $85 dollar ticket to join them, I started down Luckie Street when an onlooker grabbed my arm and handed me a ticket: "you should go with them." We dubbed him "the Miracle Man" and bought him drinks for the rest of the night. I asked him why and he placed stickers on the 3 of us that read "beautiful people." My friend Brittany attributes it to my accumulated karma, I attribute it to the lucky number 7.
